Announcing


the 2011 Vectorworks CAD Challenge for Students

We’re looking for the diamond in the rough - if you are a student could that be you?


Are you a secondary student? As winner for the 2011 CAD Challenge, you could win this Canon Ixus 130 camera......





Vectorworks Designer with Renderworks is the cross-platform design program that has everything students need for 2D drafting, 3D modeling, and professional-quality presentations. From architecture to mechanical, product design, landscaping to stage lighting and set design, no other design program offers so much to schools for so little. Students are able to have FREE copies of Vectorworks on their home computers.    



The Competition


Students are invited to enter the 2011 Vectorworks CAD Challenge to be held during 2011.

CAD Drawings must be submitted by students created in any version of Vectorworks. These can be part of their normal class work.

Now also for 2011 - Tertiary Student category.

Please note: By submitting drawings, students agree to the terms and conditions of the competition.


The Reward


A total of 10 winners will be selected from both Secondary and Tertiary schools, for each of 5 categories.

— A copy of the Vectorworks 3D CG Visualization book will be provided to the winners of all categories, valued at $100. This is a book we're sure will inspire you to even greater design skills with Vectorworks.


The Supreme Award winner will be chosen from one of the 5 categories.

— The Secondary School Supreme Award winner will receive a Canon Ixus 130 Digital Camera valued at $499

— The Tertiary Institution Supreme Award winner will receive a 12 month commercial licence of Vectorworks Designer with Renderworks, after graduation, valued at NZ$3500+GST

—  Teachers of the Supreme Award winners will receive acknowledgement and Vectorworks training valued at $300+GST.

—  Suitable winning entries will be showcased on the Megabits Trust website and the Vectorworks New Zealand Facebook page.


If you don’t have Vectorworks in your school or institution, contact us at Megabits so we can let you know about the Special Vectorworks Start Up package available, to enable your students to enter this competition and learn CAD with real world tools.


Categories


Drawings can be submitted in each of the following categories:

Secondary School -   Accommodation, Environments ( Landscape),Transport, Products, Set Design & Media

Tertiary Institutions- Accommodation, Environments ( Landscape),Transport, Products/Mechanical, Set Design

(Awards will not be made in any category where standards are not considered to be high enough)


Schedule & Entries


Competition closes Friday October 28th 2011

Drawings to be sent by DVD, with A4 printouts to Megabits Trust, created in Vectorworks, with a completed entry form.
